Breaking!

Must credit American Airspace

Richmond police have now determined that the bullet that was meant for Eric Cantor’s heart
was fired by one of those anti-Semitic, gun-obsessed liberals
destroyed Eric Cantor’s campaign office
randomly broke a window in a building that also houses Eric Cantor’s campaign office is the very same bullet that was fired at Lou Dobbs five months ago.

  3. Quit yer belly achin’ and get with the false equivalency program!

So let’s all take a deep breath and listen to America’s Voice of Reason™, Newt Gingrich, who says the best way to end this senseless violence and start the healing would be for Democrats to take responsibility for creating such a poisonous environment during the health care reform process.

  5. If that office building had been allowed concealed carry its own Star Wars (tm) missile defense system, that window would be alive today.

  6. It’s all been downhill since the Canadian hockey team beat the US in the Olympics gold medal game. That was the straw that broke the camels back.

OR Cantor just wanted to jump on the being-attacked-by-mob-with-torches-and-pitchforks bandwagon and paid someone to shoot his window. Although that seems farfetched.

Anyways seems like Mike tried to escape the blogosphere for a bit, but the but the collective freakout of the rightwing drew him back.

Seems you and Bush are on the same page, today. Except Ur saying it wrong! See, watch how it’s done here:

  9. OK, then, how about first they came for a window in a building that also houses Eric Cantor’s campaign office, but I did not speak out, because I was not a window in a building that also houses Eric Cantor’s campaign office?

Or:  never doubt that a window in a building that also houses Eric Cantor’s campaign office can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has?

  10. Heh, heh!
But Ur still doing it wrong!

OK, then, how about first they came for a window in a building that also houses Eric Cantor’s campaign office…

If only that were his campaign office, then he’d at least have a shred of truth added to his lies. Alas, it’s not even his campaign office, unless you want to stretch the definition of “campaign office” its most extreme:

The strange thing is that Cantor’s story was never really plausible, and he had to know it. The so-called “campaign office” didn’t have any visible signs linking it to Cantor. It wasn’t even in his congressional district.

Oh, and the capper? Cantor’s office wasn’t even actually hit by the random bullet. It was a nearby office in the same building where he sometimes does fundraising work.*

And if we’re going to talk Star Wars (John @5), either the movies or the even more fanciful missile defense system, Cantor’s office could not have been more concealed had it actually been inside the Death Star!

*The link to that is really giving me fits (and may be broken?), but it’s Daily Kos Fri Mar 26, 2010 at 09:16:03 AM PDT by Jed Lewison

  11. OK, O-Girl, split hairs if you must.  First they came for a nearby office in the same building where Eric Cantor sometimes does fundraising work....

And almost forgot:  thanks for the laugh @ 8!  You too, Dr. John from Louisiana @ 5.

  12. Michael - much better. And I’ll bet John P. can fashion that into a catchy chant, as well.

Speaking of John P’s catchy chants, shortly after his epic one for The Saints (at @27)

“Who essays a claim to be able to score more points in a professional football encounter than the Saints of New Orleans? Will they not have the civility to step forth and identify themselves?”

which I absolutely adore, I came across this, which is pretty funny, too. (Probably old news to many folks here, but I’m always late to the party on these sorts of things).

  13. but I’m always late to the party on these sorts of things

But at least this party is still going on.  Speaking of which: wasn’t Eddie Fisher a cantor while Eddie Cantor was a fisher?

Also i noticed that the Conservative Woodstock drew only 25% of the population of Burning Man to a much bigger city than Gerlach.

Don’t feel bad, Oaktown Girl; I thought this blog was still on hiatus.

Anyway, for some reason, Eric Cantor’s mendacious approach to politics reminds me of that Woody Allen bit (paraphrased): “We were married by a Reform rabbi in Long Island. A very Reform rabbi. A Nazi."*

*Nowadays, someone in the audience would shout “Godwin!” and then claim they just won.

  16. Let’s not rule out the possibility that this bullet was shot from the grassy knoll in 1963. Quick, to the Zapruder film!

  17. An exquisite bon mot, lurklurk (bird thou never wert), only slightly tempered by the fact that a similar reference was already made, albeit more subtly, in the very first comment.  Kids these days, with their Twisters and their Spacebooks and their LOL.  All this leads to having the attention span of a ferret on sugar-coated crack.  You mark my words: one day, the nation ... Sorry, lost my train of thought while responding to an urgent IM from YHWH.

I’m so naive I can’t spot the reference even after you pointed it out to me. What is a “courtesy phone?” Is that like when someone lends you her mobile after yours has run out of battery power?

  21. Yeah, I saw that, schoollyb.  Oddly, it has nothing to do with that mysterious stray bullet fired from the grassy knoll at Lou Dobbs, and that very ill person Leboon has issued many threats against elected officials, Republican and Democrat.  But there’s no question that the man should be in custody—those threats were seriously deranged.

  22. This has already been an amazing week for arresting potential terrorists and bullies.  Who knew so many people could be so deranged?  Oh wait, someone must have known otherwise they wouldn’t have been arrested.
